HOW TO MAKE SUGAR ROSES (PART 1 - MAKING O F THE CONE)

Now that you have learnt how to make flower paste (if you missed it click Here:), we are going to look at how to make roses from flower paste.

To get started you need:
Flower paste (500g)
20 gauge wire
Cutter and round nose plier.
90mm five petal cutter
Foam pad
Ball tool
Edible glue
Small brushes
Non stick board
Rolling pin
Vegetable shortening


Method:

Cut the 20 gauge wire to the desired length, with a plier create a small hook at the top of the wire.

Put a small ball of flower paster in the ball of your palm and work it until it is soft. (Grease your palms with vegetable shortening.)

With the side of your second hand roll the top of the ball gently until you form a cone.

Brush a bit of edible glue on the the wire and push the wire gently into the cone. Seal the base of the cone on the wire and leave to dry for at least 24 hours
