FLOWER PASTE RECIPE


Flower paste is used to make sugar flowers. It is also known as Gumpaste. As a sugar crafter you constantly have need to adorn your cakes with sugar flowers. This easy to make flower paste recipe (learnt in my training school) has never disappointed me.

INGREDIENT
Icing sugar.                        1kg
Eggs                                    3 pcs
CMC                                   20ml

METHOD

Sieve your icing sugar into a mixing bowl.
Measure 20ml of CMC and add to the icing sugar.

Separate the egg whites into another bowl and whisk until it starts to peak.

Share the icing sugar into two and make hole in the mixing bowl of icing sugar, pour the egg white into it.

Mix with a wooden spoon, gradually add more icing sugar until it forms a dough.

Turn it on your work surface and knead very well until you have a pliable dough.

Roll into a ball and store in an airtight bag. For best results, you should make your flower paste at least a day before you need it.

    1. CMC is the same as tylose powder. Tylose is actually a brand name.

  4. Please what's 20ml of cm in spoon or gram measurement

    1. 20ml in spoon measurement is actually 1tablespoon and 1teaspoon. 1tablespoon is 15ml, and 1teaspoon is 5ml.
