Chocolate buttcream recipe

Ingredients

Margarine                    250g
Icing sugar.                   500g
Cocoa powder              1 cup
Milk                             1/4 cup
Favour.                         1 teaspoon





Method:
Sieve your icing sugar into a bowl.
Cream your margarine/butter until it is fluffy.
Turn your mixer to the lowest speed and gradually add your icing sugar and cocoa powder.
When all the cocoa powder and icing sugar is fully incorporated, increase the speed.
After mixing your buttercream will look dry, add the milk and favour and mix again.

Viola you have your delicious chocolate buttercream.
If you want your buttercream to be darker add more cocoa powder.
This will cover an 8" cake.

  1. do you add meringue powder to your butter cream frostings? I heard it makes it not to melt under the sun.

  2. No I don't add meringue powder to my buttercream. I use vegetable shortening and margarine.
