Buttercream recipe 2

Ingredients:

Butter/margarine                         125g
Vegetable shortening                  125g
Icing sugar                                   500g
Milk/water.                                  1tablespoon
Flavour                                         1 teaspoon


Method
Cream the vegetable shortening and margarine/butter together until it is fluffy.
Reduce the speed of the mixer and gradually add the icing sugar.
When all the icing sugar is fully incorporated increase the speed of the mixer.
Add the milk and flavour and cream until it is creamy and smooth.

  2. Shortening is not as sweet as butter/margarine, so it makes your buttercream not to be too sweet. Shortening also can withstand higher temperature so this makes your buttercream to be stiffer and holds the decoration.
